Dear colleagues,
I'm happy to share the terrific news that Dr. Rob Fowler has been appointed as the new Director of the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Fowler's role is at the intersection of 4 departments within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine - the Departments of Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine. He will provide leadership, guidance and oversight for the city-wide Critical Care Medicine program to which we all contribute.
I encourage our community of surgical faculty and learners to connect with Dr. Fowler, either directly or through your respective Divisional/Hospital/Program leadership. I hope that we can re-energize our commitment to cross-specialty training in Critical Care Medicine, and our collaborative mission to enhance the care of critically ill individuals in Toronto, and across Ontario.
Congratulations on your appointment, Dr. Fowler. We at the Department of Surgery look forward to working with you and with our partner Departments to build a better future for our teams and our patients.
