The Department of Surgery invites you to its October University Rounds: George Armstrong-Peters and Lister Prize Lectures.

Jay S. Wunder MD MSc FRCSC FAAOS (Lister Prize recipient)
- Topic: "Advances and challenges in sarcoma care"
- Learning Objectives:
- To review major advances in the management of patients with extremity sarcomas
- To understand the roadblocks to improving cure rates in sarcoma
- To identify novel translational approaches that may improve survival in sarcoma
Anna Dare MBChB PhD FRCSC (George Armstrong-Peters Prize recipient)
- Topic: "Advancing global access to surgical care: evidence, priorities & fragile progress"
- Learning objectives:
- To briefly review how global disease burden is estimated and how these methods inform our understanding of health and surgical needs
- To analyze national and international efforts to measure and improve access to surgical care
- To consider how changing global health dynamics, and evolving patient and societal needs will shape future research and progress
